OZON

Goal of the OZON project (an Object Oriented Main-Memory Complex-Object Buffer, O3) is to provide an object oriented application programming interface for PRIMA which is a NDBS prototype. Flexible data management, efficiency, and neatless language embedding are main aspects in the discussion.

STEP-DBS

STEP (Product Data Representation and Exchange, ISO 10303) in contrast to earlier standards delivers a powerful tool to handle both data modelling and data exchange on a high level of abstraction. We discuss language concepts as well as performance aspects and study prototypical (including an own) as well as commercial STEP-DBS realizations.

VStore

(Joint project with Norbert Ritter)

The VStore DBMS is a prototype implementation of OVDM and, therefore, provides OQL at its interface. We are using VStore as a realization platform for new concepts which can be assigned to the following areas: application programming interfaces (API), activity management (long transaction management) and graphical user interfaces (GUI) integrating ad hoc query facilities and browsing functionality.
