Seminar SS 14

Main topic: Optimizing data management on new hardware

Requirements: Lecture "Datenbankanwendung"

Contact: Weiping Qu

Overview

In this term's seminar, we will look into various approaches for optimizing data management functionality (for example, query processing, recovery, etc.) by exploiting new developments in hardware, such as large main memories, multi-core processors, GPUs, FPGAs, flash memory, phase-change memory (PCM), and system appliances.
