Instant Recovery
- Download my PhD thesis.
- My PhD research was in the field of logging and recovery for databases. Our project, Instant Recovery, proposes a technique that enables database systems to start processing new transactions shortly after crashes and media failures, performing the required "redo" and "undo" operations on demand.
- This project is based on the Zero storage manager, maintained by me and released as open source.
Brackit: XQuery and MapReduce
- I previously worked in the Brackit project, whose scientific contribution is described here, and whose source code is released to the public here. My main contribution in the project was the development of an execution engine for MapReduce, similar to systems like Hive, Pig, and JAQL.
