Norbert Ritter - Short BiographyNorbert Ritter (born 07.10.62) received the M. Sc. degree (Dipl.-Inform.) and the Ph. D. degree (Dr.-Ing.) both in Computer Science from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1991 and 1997, respectively. Currently he is an assistant professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Besides teaching he is managing a project (Supporting Software Engineering Processes by Object-Relational Database Technology) in a special research program (Development of Large Systems with Generic Methods) of the national science foundation ( Sonderforschungsbereich 501 der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft) located at the University of Kaiserslautern. His research interests include object-relational database technology, extensibility, computer-supported cooperative work, transaction management and workflow management as well as application-oriented areas such as engineering information systems and software engineering repositories. Dr. Ritter is a member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and the German Computer Society (GI, Gesellschaft für Informatik). |
