The SFB-501-EB
In cooperation with subproject A1
of the SFB 501 we conceptualized and realized a Reuse Repository supporting the
Quality Improvement Paradigm. As a realization platform we have chosen object-relational
database technology. On one hand, our approach shows that object-oriented extensions
as well as further infrastructural extensions, e. g. providing web-based access, offered
by object-relational database management systems (ORDBMS) are well suited to support software engineering
applications. On the other hand, the evaluation identified some defficiencies of the current
generation of ORDBMS mainly related to versioning mechanisms and adequate processing concepts.
These (new) requirements are taken care of within the other
activities of our SENSOR project.
